Dad, We were never really sure why you chose to donate to the RNLI for so many years - obviously they do great work and the boat launches are pretty good but you only ever mentioned it when the newsletter came! I'm pretty sure that if all our donations only went towards producing it you'd be happy! I've had a few since I set up this fund; I see your point. They're pretty spectacular. So here's what we've been up to since your last Birthday... I met Caitlin Moran! She's very small, I think you would have been surprised. Her one woman show would have made your eyes water, being too outrageous even for you! I wanted to tell her about why I became a fan and that it was all down to you but I bottled it when I got to the front and managed a feeble 'that was great' before wobbling off with my signed book! We went to Fleetwood Mac for your Birthday last year, so Mum and Chris are adding insult to injury by going to ELO for your Birthday this year. We've been to the Lakes and waved at you from the top of Great Gable - a fine moutain, I can see why you liked it so much. We celebrated Little Aunty Jean's 70th Birthday at mum's new gaff in Poole - lots of Lifeboats there! The Tour de France came to Yorkshire and the Tour of Britain came to Bristol - Marc has been in his element! I got a new job to add to the one I already have so now I'm going to be doing Commercial things too. Anything to stay out of trouble. All the while you are missed. Happy Birthday old man.
